Description:

This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required for Business Administration to develop broad, entry-level administration skills for the Business environment. The course will provide knowledge of the administration, of our system to assist the administration team, as well as an understanding of the administrative processes necessary in achieving the desired outcomes for the Business. 

Job roles/employment outcomes:

The job will require you to work with the administration staff, other internal colleagues & clients to meet a diverse range of administration requirements. You will develop a rapport with existing, new clients & internal colleagues that will continually improve your ability to assist their needs and develop your administration skills to a high level.

People with this qualification would be expected to work under routine only supervision, use some discretion and judgement and may provide technical advice and support to a team. You will have excellent verbal & written skills with excellent time management, ability to follow direction and ask when unsure. Have ability to learn and use various software programs, spreadsheet, data entry, reception, phone, customer service.

Application:

This qualification is designed to provide an industry recognised skills profile as an Administration Officer. Skills development would usually be undertaken through an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement where the mix of on and off-the-job training would be specified in the Training Plan associated with the Contract of Training between the employer and apprentice. Assessment of some units of competency must, where indicated, include evidence of the candidate's performance in a productive work environment where there is a sufficient range of appropriate tasks and materials to cover the scope of application of those units. All outcomes must reflect the standard of performance inherent in the job.

Requirements:

  • Current Year 10 or 11 student
  • Current/previous experience in metal work/engineering subjects
  • Good level of maths and literacy skills
  • Leadership skills
  • A passion to work in the engineering sector
